1) insert memory chips into microwave oven
2) turn oven on HI, time approx. two minutes
3) step back from oven with hand on cord
4) at first "POP" from oven, pull cord
5) remove memory chips from oven
6) inspect chips
Conclusion...
If chips merely have warped or tarnished pins, they were fake
if chips cracked in half, they were real, and you just destroyed them.
On second thought, just buy a $1000.00 chip tester...
