I just noticed in version 1.3.96 that the first process I start after
the machine boots up is numbered something like 4076. Why is this? And
also, in regard to the flock() problem, I upgraded to gcc-2.7.2 and
libc-5.3.12, and the broken flock() still exists. I performed said
upgrade as per README's and release notes.
