I noticed this problem some time ago -- my Alpha Oopsed sometimes at boot-u=

I haven't had time to track down who needs domain sockets, but because there
are so many modprobe's running, it's maybe a problem with modprobe itself.

I mentioned the alpha only Oopsed _some_ times at bootup, there seems to be
some kind of timeout at the (first) program that needs to have a loaded=20
unix.o...

Does anybody know about internals of modprobe???
