Ok, just noticed I need to insmod ppdev as well to get /dev/parport0.

Now deviceid works:

# ./deviceid /dev/parport0
MFG:Lexmark ;MDL:Lexmark 3000 Color Jetprinter
;CMD:LEXWPS,PCL3;CLS:PRINTER;DES:Lexmark 3000 Color Jetprinter ;

Still no information in /proc/sys/dev/parport
