I said something earlier today about a problem with my nec laptop (with
ricoh tl5c478 cardbus controller) and a 3com 10/100 cardbus adapter (3c575)

I was able to get an OOPS and decode it. It seems that this only happens
when using lftp and writing to the hdd. The transfer was going at
~6.1mbyte/sec before it crashed.

This oops happens when ejecting the card after getting this error:
eth0: Host error, FIFO diagnostic register 0000.
This message repeats 21 times
eth0: Too much work in interrupt, status 8003. Temporarily disabling
functions (7ffc).

Could this be a problem with the cardbus adapter? I have no other cardbus
machines to test this card on.
