That didn't help.

But even if it did, wouldn't the way the kernel handles this siutation
be pretty awkward? I mean looping endlessly in a kernel routine
instead of giving up e.g. after a couple of these "lost interrupts"?

Anyway, the hang still occurs, but thanks for your attention.
