VM running wild, taking isdn with it

Hi,

i had the VM running wild and my isdn becoming unusable.

The following happend :
I started under X the kde newsreader. The system became unusable and disk
activity started with long pauses in between. After approximately 1 minute the
X session was terminated and the system became perfectly usable with one
execption. It was impossible to establish an isdn connection.

I am sending this to the kernel mailing list, because I am not sure that isdn
is to blame. Isdn was not active and my newsserver is localhost(leafnode).
I am quite sure that I was not out of memory.
