now this happend the 2nd time, so it's not just a single hickup
and I could do some finer tests:

after some time, mounting CDs doesn't work anymore. I've used e.g. cdda2wav,
cdparanoia etc. before on this SCSI CDROM drive, don't know yet if this might
be a problem. this never happend before (until the day before yesterday),
nut OTOH I've never used cdda2wav, cdparanoia etc. before! might be just
a random coincidence, but might also be a pointer to some open problem.

anyway, here are the kernel error messages I get:

Oct 30 16:30:26 turtle kernel: SCSI CD error : host 0 id 5 lun 0 return code = 28000002

and after `rmmod sr_mod' it works again:

Oct 30 16:30:56 turtle kernel: Detected scsi CD-ROM sr0 at scsi0, channel 0, id 5, lun 0

Oct 30 16:30:56 turtle kernel: ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A

here are the kernel messages when this happend the first time:

Additional sense indicates Invalid field in cdb
VFS: Disk change detected on device sr(11,0)
ISO 9660 Extensions: RRIP_1991A
attempt to access beyond end of device

dev 0b:00 blksize=2048 blocknr=227240 sector=908960 size=2048 count=1

any ideas, questions, suggestions ?
