another "2.3.23 doesn't boot" posting

2.3.23 doesn't boot here either... Actually, it forces a processor
reset and the machine reboots. 2.3.22 seems to be fine, and I haven't
tried 2.3.24 yet (mirrors finally updated this morning, and I'll build
2.3.24 in a few minutes).
