Hi all,

I'd like to submit some testing results you you all regarding IDE software
RAID & SMP.

Testing was done with the following:

Abit BP6 dual Celeron board, 4 Quantum Bigfoots as hda, hdc, hde, hdg
(Intel PIIX pri master, sec master & HPT366 pri master, sec master), 2
Intel Celeron CPU's.

linux 2.2.13 kernel source,
linux 2.2.13ac1 patch,
ide patch for 2.2.13pre17.

After compiling and booting the system all seemed ok.
Then i bugun trying to trigger the smp/ide problem by running a

dd if=/dev/md0 of=/dev/null

along with 3

yes "blablablabla" > /tmp/dumpx

this was going just fine for about an hour.
I was also ding some minor ftp sessions to another machine and accessing a
samba share from a windows box.
After about one hour, the system freesed. No error messages were on the
console, nothing worked, i had to reboot the system to get it back up.

Hope this info will help sorting a possible problem out. If you need any
more info, don't hessistate to contact me

Best regards,

Martijn
