1. atyfb - totally garbled screen on boot

2. I am getting totally garbled screen after boot, approximately when
the penguin logo usually appears. It appears that the system does not
crash and it boots normally into multiuser mode only with garbled
screen. Clean shutdown via Alt-Ctrl-Del is possible.
The OS installed is RedHat 6.0.
Video: ATI XPERT@WORK 8MB AGP.
Motherboard: VA-503+ (VIA Apollo chipset)
CPU: AMD K6 on 350 MHz
The problem has beeen traced to atyfb support, e.g. if I remove
the atyfb support from configuration and recompile, the resulting
kernel works fine.
The 2.2.5 (RedHat) kernel works fine. 2.2.11 has the same problem
as 2.2.12. 2.2.6-2.2.10 not checked.

*** When I move the problematic 2.2.12 kernel to machine with ATI
*** XPERT@WORK 4MB PCI on Intel HX based board with Pentium-166 CPU,
*** it does not exhibit the problem

X. Workaround: disable atyfb in kernel configuration.

Thanks for this to be fixed soon,
