2.2.10-ac8, Bad slab magic (corrupt) (name=buffer_head)

I got the following on the serial console when stress testing
the disk on 2.2.10-ac8 with Bonnie. No other programs were active
and there was no network traffic. After this message the machine
was locked up hard and had to be reset.
