Just now I booted 2.3.10 on my Alpha, and after starting the getty's (and
about to start X), it went into uninterruptible sleep (in kpiod,
__wait_on_page).

Its root filesystem is on NFS.

Rebooted with SysRq and it didn't happen on the next boot.
