is there a patch/fix for this ?
/proc/cpuinfo gives :

[root@mail log]# cat /proc/cpuinfo

vendor_id : GenuineIntel
cpu family : 6
model : 7
model name : 00/07
stepping : 2

(p3-500)

tried a few machines (and kernels)

this is 2.2.10-ac5
