Just a question: Have you registered the partitions for raid1, using
raidadd?

The sequence i use here is (with my /etc/raidtab pre-configured):
darkstar:~# raidadd --all
darkstar:~# raidrun --all
darkstar:~# mount -a

I´m using a Brazilian RH from Conectiva, it´s based on RH5.2, but stills
2.0.37.
