Ok bfd is part of the binutils package. On Red Hat it is part of

binutils-2.9*rpm

so it ought to be around since you have a linker. What distribution are
you using ?

Ok my fault. For those that don't exactly match use the one before. The
trace is the function calls - in most cases a function is called part way
through another function so that the addres on the stack is
symbol+someoffset
