There were some serious problems with the CD drivers under 2.2.3 that
were largely fixed in 2.2.4 and fully fixed in 2.2.5. I can confirm
that the performance advantages are still there in 2.2.5 so I would
strongly recommend upgrading from 2.2.3 to 2.2.5 as a cure...
