Static Swap

The restriction of having partitions set up and the need to add swap
swap space can be avoided (beside using swap file(s)) by setting up a
LVM system (see <http://linux.msede.com/lvm>).
This enables you to create up to 256 so called volumes of arbitrary sizes
which can be used like partitions (for eg. as swap).
