Yeah - unfortunately I don't know why either, but people see assorted bizarre
crashes in buffer operations

2.0.36 and 2.2.0 are basically the same aic7xxx driver. 2.0.37 and 2.2.2
will be basically the same newer aic7xxx driver version.

You might want to try dumping ps -edalf to a log file every 2 minutes or so
that way there is a small chance you'll see a whole pile of jammed up
processes just before it dies
