I hate to reply to myself, but the compile stalled again:

[...]
make[3]: Entering directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers/cdrom'
egcc -D__KERNEL__ -I/usr/src/linux/include -Wall -Wstrict-prototypes -O2 -fomit-frame-pointer -pipe -fno-strength-reduce -m486 -DCPU=486 -DEXPORT_SYMTAB -c cdrom.c
cdrom.c: In function `cdrom_ioctl':
cdrom.c:808: `CDROM_RESET' undeclared (first use in this function)
cdrom.c:808: (Each undeclared identifier is reported only once
cdrom.c:808: for each function it appears in.)
make[3]: *** [cdrom.o] Error 1
make[3]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers/cdrom'
make[2]: *** [first_rule] Error 2

make[1]: *** [_subdir_cdrom] Error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/linux/drivers'
make: *** [_dir_drivers] Error 2

After checking the file it is obvious that <linux/cdrom.h> is missing the
declaration for this ioctl. Could it be that the fix in question was only
partially included in the patch?

Dominik Kubla
