udma still broken (2.2.1+aladdin 5)

appears the udma patch gotten at

http://www.dyer.vanderbilt.edu/server/udma/

still doesnt work properly for the aladdin 5 pci ide chipset, as i can't
mount cdroms. mounting cdroms on stock 2.2.1 works.

my specs:

- gigabyte ga-5ax m/b
- creative 36X ide CREATIVECD3621E cdrom, master on secondary ide

the error message when attempting to mount:

hdc: command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: command error: error=0x50
end_request: I/O error, dev 16:00 (hdc), sector 80
kernel: ISOFS: unable to read i-node block
kernel: isofs_read_super: root inode not initialized
kernel: ATAPI device hdc:
kernel: Error: Illegal request -- (Sense key=0x05)
kernel: Illegal mode for this track or incompatible medium --
(asc=0x64, ascq=0x00)
