No, you only have one file. That it can be named both ways is a hysterical
accident (oops, did I misspell something here?).

Anyway, lots of one-shot config files are named /etc/*.conf, so it's
modules.conf. End of discussion. But then, I'm using my own home-made
distribution anyway. ;-)
