One of my recent jobs was helping with press for a major political
campaign, I can probably procure a list of "traditional" press contacts.
The traditional news organizations I recommend we send the release to are:

TV:
ABC
CBS
CNN
FOX
NBC (they have the same news dept. as MSNBC)
PBS (optional)

Radio/Wire:
National Public Radio
AP
Reuters

Print Dailies:
Boston Globe
Chicago Tribune
Gannett (USA Today)
LA Times
NY Times
Chicago Tribune
San Fransisco Chronicle (for Silicon Valley)
Wall Street Journal
Washington Post

Print Weeklies:
Time
Newsweek
US News & World Report
Forbes
Fortune
Money
(insert other major business publications here)

Thanks.
Peter
