I've been using the egcs/pgcc 1.1 egcs pgcc-2.91.57 to compile the 2.1.x for
a while with no trouble. I haven't added any optimizations at all, but it's
compiling and running cleanly so far.

This is an x86 glibc RH 5.1 (loosely at this point) based setup with the
kernel compiled for K6.

Dunno, am I 'missing' something here? Seems to be fine.
