If you have any other means of time synchronization, you should run afs
with the "-nosettime" switch. The simple time synchronization in the
AFS client was implemented almost a decade ago, before people had good
time synchronizations methods widely available. NTPv2 or v3 are much
better. (Remember, the original target platform was the IBM PC RT, and
running *any* additional processes on it caused noticeable performance
degradation). Frankly, "nosettime" should be the default.
