Yes, ntp-4.0.90a "works." It worked just fine out of the box on the machine I'm
writing this on (2.1.130, libc5, UP). But then this machine only has two sources
of time, both of which are local with negligible jitter/delay. On a 2.0.36
machine (libc5, UP) with a variety of external time sources, ntp would reliably
rocket the drift to a completely bizarre value upon startup, taking some two days
to settle back to normal operation. ntp-4.0.72j does not exhibit this problem
when run on the very same machine. So, YMMV when trying new ntp releases.
