The only criticism of the 2.0.36 I had was that it plainly should have been
2.0.56 - the changes since 2.0.35 are slightly too great to follow easily
by looking at the single diff.

I'll look again at Rules.make. I thought I got the stuff about one module
calling another. You seem to be talking about something other than that
here ... (yes, I had to cope with the Chastain Makefile, and it almost beat
me).
