I have an Opti 82C931 card (mad16 driver) and I can't say that I recognize
the problem.

Almost identical /proc/sound:

Almost identical .config:

# Configure Opti931 soundcard
alias audio0 mad16
alias char-major-14 mad16
alias sound mad16
alias midi0 mad16
alias mixer0 mad16
alias synth0 opl3
options sb mad16=1
options mad16 irq=5 dma=1 dma16=0 io=0x530 joystick=0 cdtype=0
options opl3 io=0x388

I have a few more entries, some borrowed from Documentation/sound/Opti,
char-major-14 added to make the module autoload when /dev/audio was used.

It should be possible to get it configured using isapnp. Here are some
pages I used to get isapnp going with this card:

http://www.physics.mun.ca/~jwoodfd/opti931.html
http://www.sequel.demon.co.uk/opti.html

They contain links to the latest versions of isapnp and some example conf
files. I am using a modified version of one of those, if you want it just
ask.
