No, and I fail to see why it should be there:
1 - it's never been necessary until now
2 - kerneld would give me an error message if it failed to find block-major-11,
but it doesn't even do that, indicating that this is not the problem.
Actually kerneld is completely quiet, which tells me that it's not even
being contacted.

PS: yes, I did try to add it to modules.conf, just for the sake of it.
