I notice that one of the 'helpers' for IP Masquerading systems is to
enable IRC to be used through such a firewall...
However, the sentiments behind your suggestion are indeed valid, and
indeed, I think I stated as much in my original message...
In addition, other problems of which I was not aware have been pointed
out to me...
