I noticed when running the bonnie disk benchmark on a UP machine
using a 2.1.125 kernel build with SMP but booted with the option nosmp
that the CPU timings were rather strange:
-------Sequential Output-------- ---Sequential Input-- --Random--
-Per Char- --Block--- -Rewrite-- -Per Char- --Block--- --Seeks---
Machine MB K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU K/sec %CPU /sec %CPU
256 6088 193.3 6955 22.2 3028 18.8 5192 155.8 5750 14.0 157.4
3.9
Bonnie uses getrusage. Is there a problem with using the "nosmp" kernel option?
Cheers, Fons.
