If you have the internal SparQ, I don't think either of these issues has
been addressed yet. The external (parallel port) SparQ drives do support
ejection (the standard CD-ROM ioctl is accepted by the pd driver).
It is fairly simple to add the same support into the mainstream IDE
driver.

As for write protection, this will require some reverse engineering.

SyQuest promised to send me a SparQ over a year ago, but they never
followed through. Someone with parallel port SparQ could use DOSemu
to capture traces of the write-protection operations and thereby deduce
the commands that are used ...
