Hello,
I did some "excavations" in my logs last weekend and there are
the results : The msg. is : "VFAT : Filesystem panic. Bad FAT Mounting
read-only" I am geting these when using fat32 partitions of win98. The
error occurs some time AFTER mounting (sorry for confusion), time is
approx. one or two minutes, often without any access to that partition.
After remounting that partition, all is fine for some time. I am
observing no corruption, it is just annoying to remount it all the time.
In my opinion, modules are out of game, because mount succeeds.
Under stable 2.0.34 kernel and under 2.1.112 kernel there were no
problems with fat32
My configuration : Kernel 2.1.125ac3 (upgraded this weekend), modutils
2.1.121, all fat and vfat code loaded as modules (fat,vfat,msdos etc),
using
kmod to autoload them. Distribution is Debian 2.0, my hw Cyrix166, 64
megs of RAM. My disk drive is IBM DHEA64xx (don't know exact type, its
just
6.5 GB IDE drive, I am very happy with it)
