The 3Com 3c515 100BT ISA ethernet adapter should be supported by 2.2 as it
is for 2.0. I last built 2.1.125 see that the 3c515 is not included in
the configurator. redhat and debian distributions include support, the
2.0 kernels include 3c515 in the configuration menus.
