Dear all,

My apology for this intrusion.

Mr. Gooch, there is something I do not understand, so would you enlighten me,
please?

A. Is the linux-kernel list a moderated list?
If so, are you the moderator?

B. Is the noise generated by the offtopic thread
in question taking over the linux-kernel list?
If not, why are you so concern about it?

C. Could it be that you are the one who has the
problem with the US 2nd Amendment Right matter,
and not the other way around?

D. Of the thousands of subscribers to this l-k list,
what's the percentage of them raised issue with
the geek/gun thread?

E. Do you know that you are allowed to skip and/or
delete any offending messages that you do not like?

Disclaimer:
I am not pro-gun nor anti-gun, heck, I am not
even in the United States. I am not saying that
the l-k list is the proper place to talk about
guns.

There are times people needs to be flexible,
and as long as the off-topic talks aren't taking
over the main points of discussion, let it be.

There is nothing to be gained by strongarming
others to follow your wish.

Remember, we do have a dictator here, a
benevolent one nevertheless, and it is
Mr. Linus Torvalds. If the benevolent
dictator hasn't issue his dictate in
banning any particular off-topic threads,
why should any one of us?

Mr. Gooch, I hope that you would learn to relax more, and I encourage you to
exercise your right to delete whatever message in your personal Inbox, that
doesn't suit your taste from now on.

Please stop telling anybody else what they should or shouldn't say or write,
because in most cultures this type of behavior is considered to be very
intrusive and extremely impolite.

Thank you for reading and for your kind consideration.

Respectfully,
Pete
