about mars_nwe & ncpmount

Hi everyone,

Anyone know how stable/robust the nwe stuff is? I've heard it said that
utilizing these two as an alternative to the good old NFS provides a more
stable and faster implementation of file sharing.

Does anyone have an opinion? Anyone know if the mars_nwe implementation
properly supports file locking (since in general the 2.0 NFS does not)?

The reason I ask is because I'm looking for a FAST and stable file sharing
solution because it will be used in a webserver cluster, where speed is very
important. Basically even the httpd log files will be in shared volumes.

Anyone know if it's possible to have swap space over shared filesystem? That
would enable me to turn the webservers into diskless clients.

My need for locking is that it would enable redundant smtp/pop servers as well.
For the webservers there's no need for file locking, but for a mail server it
simply won't work without proper file locking. Without file locking I cannot
have redundant mail servers.

On the same note, anyone know if mysql can be run over a shared filesystem?
Meaning the db file being on a shared drive?

Thanks for any and all suggestions!

Ricardo
