I'd have to agree here. My 1540B based system was very solid for
the most part. If my Seagate Elite hiccuped (it has a firmware
bug that causes long command chains to fail) it was OK.

I had a Wangtek 5150ES tape drive on it and it worked through errors
just fine, _most_ of the time. But sometimes, out of the blue,
accessing the tape drive would kill the whole thing. It was rare,
but it happened.

The same thing happens with my DPT 2044W controller. aha1542.c
probably needs to be fixed, but it won't help me... :)

I now have a 4mm drive that is less troublesome, but its still not
reliable enough in 2.1.124 to count on. The old Wangtek won't work
at all.
