Hi guys,

Has anyone had problems using the Eagle TR-4i Travan-4 IDE tape streamer
with a Supermicro P6DNF motherboard?

The reason that I am asking is that this tape streamer used to work 100%
with my old i486 system, no problems making tape backups or retrieving
stuff from the tape, but now I am having major problems making backups -
sometimes it locks up the machine solidly, sometimes it finishes and then
upon verification halts with multiple errors.

I'm using ide-tape as a module and the relevant information is in my
.signature. The tape and the CDROM drive are both hooked up on the IDE1
channel (identical configuration as on my old i486), and the CDROM seems
to work fine - checked by doing a lot of reads from it and checking
validity of files in order to eliminate the cable as the problem, which
btw is a brand new cable to avoid any problems.

I've also checked the slave/master relationship and they're correctly
jumpered (if it wasn't, would the CDROM be working?)

Any clues would be much appreciated so that I can get good backups.

Cheers,
Alex
