I had thought someone would react adversely to the change in the timeout
delay count. I changed it back to 3000 here since it didn't seem to make
a difference eiterh way with teh otehr change (PLIP_DEBUG making CPP time
decisions about teh timeout printk) and _DEBUG = 0.

At any rate, was the rest of it a mistake? I'm hoping not, my aim was to
get rid of the display corrupting timeout messages. Not fine tune the
source to a 486.
