I haven't. I burn CD's all the time with the following setup:

scsi0: *** BusLogic BT-946C Initialized Successfully ***
scsi0 : BusLogic BT-946C
scsi : 1 host.
Vendor: TEAC Model: CD-R50S-000 Rev: 1.0E
Type: CD-ROM ANSI SCSI revision: 02

Linux neko 2.1.122 #6 SMP Sun Sep 20 21:32:45 EDT 1998 i686 unknown

cdrecord 1.6

Though the last CD I burned was under 2.1.115, I have had no problems. In
fact, I was able to burn a CD at 4x while doing a 'find /' (which I was
surprised at).

Define "flakes out" :)
