Bootparam -- nfsaddrs not working?

I have a diskless client. It boot ok, but while booting, it sends
BOOTP request for ip-number etc. But /proc/cmdline shows that nfsaddrs
is already set to the ip number, server ip, gateway etc. It seems as
the line never get parsed. Is it a bug in the kernel or something else?

Thanks for any help.
