Hi!

I've been trying to setup DHCP with a 3c59x.c (3905B-TX )with a Linux
2.0.35 kernel.
(RH5.1) Actually, the network card is connected to a cablemodem. I've been
following the same procedure that I followed with an earlier setup (where
I got a 3c509 card), and I can't get it to work:
driver version 0.99E:
DHCP sends/receives packets, but fails still. tcpdump on the device seem
to produce garbage during the DHCP probe.
(The packets are shown in ifconfig as TX/RX without any problems :( )
After the failed dhcp, the card is left in a nonstandard mode,
ifconfig shows many options, including: LOOPBACK, POINTOPOINT,
BROADCAST, NOARP.
(During the dhcp probe, ifconfig reports the expected 0.0.0.0
configuration, etc.)
static configuration worked for some pings, but it afterwards the card
went also into this weird option mode :(

0.99G: DHCP still doesn't work.
Couldn't get static configuration even for a moment to work :(

The hardware is basically ok, as Win98 works with it flawlessly :(, so I
presume that it's some driver problem.
(The effect is the same in two different motherboards: a new Asus P5A, and
some old Asus T2P4 with a P100)
