2.1.122 can't mount ext2 cdroms

On two different machines, each with a different brand of
scsi cdrom, I am unable to mount my ext2 cdroms.
I get the message that says.. worng fs type or whatever..
When I use 2.0.35 on the same machine !
It works without a problem.

On the AST (ick) it gave in the logs:

VFS: Unsupported blocksize on dev 0b:00.
