Did you use loadlin? Someone else reported success loading a VESA
driver in DOS and then using loadlin. Meanwhile, booting using LILO,
vesafb says absolutely nothing. Although I _did_ get a screen full of
blue and green dots by messing with the video mode numbers... :)
