Goodday Gentlemen

I have been looking everywhere that I can imagine in order to see if
there is, or will be, support for the IBM ServeRAID II PCI SCSI
controllers. These controllers are sold as PCI adapters and are also
built onto the motherboards of the IBM Netfinity 5500 systems.

I have several simple questions that I hope you could take a moment to
answer:

1) Is support for this hardware being built into the Linux 2.1.x and
higher kernels?

2) Could this support be backwards ported to Linux 2.0.34 and/or higher?

3) Do you know of anyone that might be able to answer these questions
if you don't have the answer?

We are a systems house that is selling Netfinity 5500's and we want to
use Linux to support our business apps. We may be forced to use SCO
Openserver instead if we can't determine if/when support for the
ServeRAID II will be available. (If it will be available soon, or
could be ported back to the 2.0.x kernel, we will find some other RAID
adapter to use in the next several systems that are sold.)

You assistance will be greatly appreciated, and I also realize that
you will be taking valuable time to reply to this message, so I am
doubly greatfull for your assistance!
