Realvideo was wrong. Realvideo is still wrong. And _I_ made the final
decision not Tom.

No the GUS hang on close has been there since before Tom or I touched that
version of the sound code. Nobody with a GUS card and manuals has fixed it,
and I refuse to apply the broken botch around that has been sent to
linux-kernel.

I had a discussion with someone who may be porting the perex driver and
if so then the old gus driver can get binned.

Which is why 2.0 is staying bug compatible, including 2.0.x modular sound.
Real are aware of the issue and have plenty of time now to make the tweak
for 2.2. (Yes I bothered to make sure they knew)

If running a 2.1. development kernel broke your realvideo player on a day
you happened to be in a bad mood upset you fine, but dont go ranting at
people about it, especially Tom who had nothing to do with the final
decision.
