I dubit of hardware problems since 2.1.120 was aware of the problem and
was unable to unmount the fs. I am not running overclocked from ages. Here
the hardware specs though:

PIIX4: IDE controller on PCI bus 00 dev 09
PIIX4: not 100% native mode: will probe irqs later
