Please mail me to schuldei@andrive.de; I am not on this list.

I run 2.1.120 (both RPC- and DualPentium-Patch applied) on a dual
pentium-mmx system with pgcc 1.1b and the newest binutils. It works
generally.

ZIP-DRIVE_ISSUE ***********************************

I fail to adress my zip-drive. Perhaps I am just not smart enough to
figure out this parport thing. I try it this way:

modprobe ppa

loads parport.o and parport_probe.o and then returns:
init_module: parport busy (or something similar)

depending on my luck in /proc/parport I find either nothingor a
subdirectory called 0/. There in the autoprobe-file I see thet it
could not find any vendor or device stuff.

I can unload all the modules just fine and try an other order to load
my modules, but it does not bring anything new.
I also tried to load parport.o and parport_pc and then do a
insmod ppa parport=0

But it complained about parport to be an illigal parameter.

How should I configure my parallel Port in the Bios? Right now it is both:
ECP+EPP.
Do I need a zip-disk in the drive to load the module?
Is there a Right Way to load the modules? What parameters should I
give?

SVGA-ISSUE **********************************

I fail to give the Kernel any high resolution textmodes. I tried
command-line parameters to lilo, parameters in lilo.conf and
compiled-in Parameters.

When I run it with ASK_VGA or anything else it ignores it. But it
takes the lilo-parameters for multiple-devices well.

Is this a known problem?
