I'm kind of disappointed by this. I'd prefer to see shorter development
cycles, maybe releasing a new stable series every 6-9 months or so.
It's been over 2 years since 2.0.0 was released. In terms of kernel
development, those 2 years have allowed an awful lot of changes, and
people on stable kernels have to either wait for a new stable kernel
series or use some hacked together backport to get at the new features.
