2068 byte sector size, redux

Hi, ladies and gentlemen:

I resolved the problem by bringing in an Adaptec controller
(the 2940-UW) and low-level formatting the Elite 9. After I complete
the low-level format, the Tekram card shows the drive as a 8.6*10^6
bytes drive instead of 9.3*10^6 bytes. Clearly, the Elite 9's unusual
format is beneficial in that it increases capacity-- the same as the
2048 byte sector of the 640MB MO disk (as opposed to 512 bytes an 540)
necessitating new kernel patches. I wish I could have formatted it at
2048 per sector, but I am happy that at least it is usable now.

Thanks for the help!
